Joanne is a social procurement professional, passionate about driving socio economic outcomes through the power of procurement. She has worked in procurement roles across multiple industries and multiple countries and has recently moved into a role at Transport for New South Wales. This role has provided her with the opportunity to leverage infrastructure investment to enable economic opportunities for diverse individuals, businesses and communities across New South Wales, Australia. Her work focuses on developing strategies for major projects to use their purchasing power to create local jobs and increase workforce skilling, workforce diversity and supplier diversity.
Prior to Transport for NSW, she worked within one of Australia’s largest bank, Westpac, as its Senior Manager - Supplier Inclusion and Diversity, within the Procurement function promoting social and economic participation for diverse suppliers within its supply chain. She is also the current Social Traders Social Procurement Champion of the Year for her work in promoting social enterprises both externally and internally to Westpac.
